Do you ever feel like your brain has stopped working?
Background information: At Jack's daycare, they have a bulletin board where every child has a car on a racetrack. Being on the racetrack is a good thing - it means you have been listening to directions, nice to the other kids, etc. If you get in trouble, you first go to the pit area. If you get into LOTS of trouble, then your car goes into the garage. Jack's car has been in the pit area only once. He's still pretty little compared to the other kids, so I'm sure he's been given some leeway.
So here's what happened:
Bryan picked up Jack from daycare and when they got home, he was telling me about how Trevor* (not his real name) was in the garage when he got there. I was surprised and asked, "How did he get into the garage?" Mind you - I was picturing this little boy tinkering around in the garage and wondering how he slipped away, got upstairs and into the garage without anyone noticing!
So Bryan went on to tell me how Trevor hit a girl and then threw a toy at another girl and so he was sent to the garage. In my mind I'm still thinking.... "Wow. That's what they do when the kids get into a lot of trouble?" I then made the mistake of saying it aloud at which Bryan gave me a disgusted look and said, "He wasn't really in the garage!!!"
Oh yeah, he was talking about the car on the bulletin board. Silly me. I was beginning to rethink this daycare. :)

nah, it wasn't a look of disgust. More like being completely baffled at the question.
That's ok Sweetheart. You do have a big birthday coming up in about six months. We fully understand. Been there done that.

As a teacher, I like that racecar idea. Cute.
As a Mom with a few lost brain cells, yeah. I know how it goes.
