Independence!

Happy (belated) 4th of July! I started this post yesterday morning, got sidetracked and never made it back to the computer. Oops. Family is in town this weekend and we've been busy hanging out and making food.

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July and that the rest of the weekend is great!

Speaking of independence, Jack has started to assert his feelings toward us. When he doesn't want something, he crinkles up his nose, flaps his arms, screams, or any combination of those. On Monday, I thought he was teething because he was SO cranky. But we've been using that excuse since he was 3 months old. He still doesn't have any teeth. Shows what we know! :)

Well, his crankiness may have actually been the beginning of independence. I'm not sure.... But I realized this week that he's not so much a baby anymore. Cuddling time is hard to find when he's on the move. It took me a few days, but I'm adjusting to these new ways for Jack to communicate.
