This week's letter is the letter F...

F is for fair queens, fancy haircuts, farm animals, and first birthdays. It's been quite a week!

My sister and I traveled back home to our county fair on Thursday. We were both county fair queens back in our day and they were hosting a "fair queen reunion" at our county's 150th fair. I was a little hesitant on going, but am really glad I did.

That morning, Jack got his first haircut. He was a pretty good boy during the whole thing, but I sure miss his baby hair.

Here is the Jack-man with his new big boy haircut. Compared to this, he no longer looks like a baby.

And then later that afternoon, we headed to the fair. My sister and I made the mistake of taking him to see the cattle first and as you can tell, he wasn't quite sure what to think. A few moments before this picture, he was crying.

He liked the horse until it started to wave its head around.

Standing on the fence was fun...

Because I grew up with hogs and showed them at our county fair through 4-H, we had to make sure and touch one of them.

Until he saw the pigs, Jack didn't make a sound. I think his little mind was blown away by all the animals. Then all of a sudden, he decided he wanted to get in the pen with them!

We celebrated our nephew's first birthday yesterday. He was such a nice boy to let Jack play with some of his new gifts. They look like they are inspecting the lawnmower together.

It was a fun week. And now I'm going to kick back and put my feet up on the couch.

Thanks! We had almost 100 pictures on our camera after those 3 days. It was almost a bit ridiculous!
