Add it to the list...

Our house is just old enough that things are beginning to need replaced and fixed. We replaced our water heater this spring, we're in the process of replacing two windows and there are several other projects that need/should be done (deck, landscaping, light fixtures, ceiling fans, etc...). Summer is a good time for those projects for me since I have extra time. Last summer I was VERY pregnant, so very little got done. I've been trying to make up for that this summer by using the precious time when Jack's sleeping to work outside.

Well now we can add one more thing to our list and it will definitely be at the top... This is what we woke up to this morning. One of our dogs ate the carpet! I don't know why... but he chewed out a nice little hole. And it's not in a spot that can be easily hidden. Oh no, it's in the middle of the living room floor. So... I'm glad we have carpet remnants left over. However, I'll try not to complain too much. My friends, Katie & Eric have had way worse household troubles.

Total bummer! But check with your home insurance...when my friend's son spilled red wine on her white carpet, they replaced the whole thing. However, when my son colored our sofa with crayons, of course THAT was exempt! Slipcovers? We got 'em!

One of my dogs dogs ripped up the carpet in front of our door. I wanted to KILL her. Thank goodness you have extra carpet.

Oh that just sucks a duck, I can see my golden doing something like that. And I feel ya on the house repairs, talk about a 7 year itch. OY.

Thanks for the helpful advice. And, oh yes, he rules!

Oh no! Our sheltie did that when we lived in our first apartment. We cut out the hole, clipped a chunk of carpet from a sample in the maintenance guy's office and glued it into the bare spot! It actually blended nicely and nobody ever noticed!

It's all part of the joy of home ownership, Chris! It just never really ends.
