I don't particularly like to cook. I like to bake, but as for making meals, not my thing. Luckily, Bryan doesn't mind cooking and is quite good at it. He is our meal organizer. He makes a list of meals for the week, gets the groceries, and pretty much plans what we're having each night.
Since he's been working different hours, I've been making more meals. I guess I don't mind the cooking itself as much as the planning. So if he tells me what we're having, I'll make it. And one of our meals this week was Pecan-Crusted Beef Burgers and salad.
If you like to grill a lot like us, these are a tasty alternative to regular burgers.
1 pound ground hamburger
1/2 cup pecans, finely chopped
1/2 cup shredded baby Swiss cheese
1/3 cup minced green onions (white and green parts)
1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley leaves
1 large egg
1. Prepare a medium-hot fire in your grill.
2. Combine the beef, pecans, Swiss cheese, green onions, parsley, and egg in a large bowl, mixing well with your hands. Shape into 4-6 patties 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick.
3. Place the burgers directly over the coals, cover, and grill (5-7 minutes per side for medium rare).
4. Enjoy!

you know, my plan is get you used to cooking. And then you'll get good at knowing how long certain things take, and what's involved ... and then you'll just take over.
heh.
Ha. I really don't see that happening. ;)
Yum! Thanks for the recipe, I can't wait to try it!
