Boy meets bugs

Jack has been learning about bugs at daycare. They have little units of study as part of their curriculum and the latest has been all about butterflies and bugs. As part of their activities, the kids had magnifying glasses (child-friendly, of course) and inspected little plastic bugs. Saying that he loved it is an understatement. He walked around most of the afternoon with bugs jammed in his fists.

Then one evening, this little rubber guy came home with him. Umm, illegally... We didn't realize it until the bug had been "loved" for several hours and even bathed before bed. You should have seen the fit he threw when he had to set the bug down to eat supper!

Look at this face... Does this look like the face of a bug stealer?

At the end of the week, he {legally} brought home his own jar of plastic bugs to play with. It doubles as a real bug jar when the time comes.

Momma - Look at the red one!! Oh, and notice the little plastic Cubs hat in the picture? Bryan gave that to him this week from a box he was sorting through. Bryan put it on Elmo's head and Jack noticed right away. He calls it the 'Elmo hat.' Pretty funny what he gets excited about!
