I started back to school this week. It was a few days of working in my room, scattered with meetings here and there. I dread, and at the same time, enjoy this time of year. I dread going back to school because the lazy days of summer are over. This year, I also dreaded going back because being a stay-at-home mom was quite enjoyable. On a side note, I have a renewed appreciation for those of you who stay at home all year long!
Yet, I also really enjoy the beginning of a new school year. I look forward to new students, new things to teach, new people to work with, and a renewed sense of focus. There is an energy about teachers during this time of year. The level of excitement and enthusiasm (for most) is like a breath of fresh air. And for those that despise the fact that teachers have summers off, come visit us in May. I don't think you'd last long... Yet, in August, we're ready to go again and have restored our positive attitudes.
And for a little more lift to your day, visit Christy. She has a wonderful bit of inspiration for you.
Have a good weekend everyone!

Hi Chris! I've always admired teachers. Thanks for doing what you do!
Wishing you the best in the school year ahead!
I kind of miss teaching. I guess I just miss the excitement of a new school year.
I hope you get a wonderful, well-behaved class:)
Here's hoping the year continues on a good note and that Tonka gets over his carpet fetish!
