August -- a fun-filled month!

Of course, school started this month and Jack is officially a third-grader!  He got to have his day one donut with Daddy again this year before meeting his teacher.

Maddy also got to have a Daddy donut date in August!  She had an early out from daycare and they went for a quick bike ride.  Maddy even captured the memory in a drawing!

To add to the Daddy fun, the kids got two fun-filled days while I was having a "Mommy's weekend" in Minnesota with my sis and sis-in-law.  They went to the Children's Museum on Saturday.

Then they took a trip to Beatrice to the Homestead Monument on Sunday.  Jack was really wanting to get the stamps in his National Parks Passport.  Maddy was quite interested in being a big kid and doing a scavenger hunt!  It looks like a pretty neat place to visit.

Mommy's Weekend!  Sarah, Liz, and I spent two nights in Minnesota.  We had great food, got to spend time at the Minnesota State Fair and our main purpose for the visit... we saw the Dixie Chicks in concert!  Woot!

I got to break in my new cowboy boots for the concert!  The concert was amazing.  I'm not even sure I can do it justice by telling about it.  They did a Prince tribute along with the other fabulous songs they performed at the concert.  It was quite easy to sing along the whole time!  And I came home with a Dixie Chicks for President t-shirt!  Such good times!
