We're back into the full swing of things with the school year summer. And, just like that, my blogging got behind! :) Time to catch up because there is so much we did in July! We tried to make use of our annual NE parks permit and spent a day hiking/playing at Schramm State Park.
Maddy was so excited to get to do her own camps this summer. She did two different preschool camps through the Hitchcock Nature Center. One was called Rainbow Connection about colors found in nature and the other was called Wild Webbed Feet. It was a great experience for her!
Since it was a bit of a drive to get Maddy to camp, Jack and I stayed there and did some hiking, quiet nature reading time, and enjoyed the scenery!
We were so lucky to get to end the summer with my dear friend, Katie and her family coming to visit from VA. They spent a couple nights with us and we took them to the Henry Doorly Zoo.
Some fun captured moments with all our kids!
Maddy got to go to her friend's 5th birthday party. It was a Peppa the Pig theme... so cute!
Some of my favorites from this summer... Always so many Legos on our table. Wouldn't have it any other way! Maddy looks so grown up with her ponytail. Maddy learning to read. Bryan taught Jack too and is the best at getting them interested in words! We had plenty of water time and silly moments too.
The last week of summer was spent at a Stormchasers baseball game (finally made it to one!) and miniature golfing among other fun things!
The week I was back to school and Jack wasn't, he got to go to the Hummel Day Camp in Omaha. It was such a great experience for him. They do amazing things while developing their independence and skills in nature. Jack won the muddies camper award in his group!
Right before (or right after... I'm not sure) school started, I busted out the good camera on a beautiful evening night. I need to remember to do that more often! My fur baby... Lily.
My forever baby... love this girl's contagious giggles!
My baby that made me a mom... my baseball loving boy. Featuring my handsome hubby, of course!
Every summer I get sad that it is ending, although I love what I do in teaching! I am forever grateful that I get to spend so much quality time with my kids in the summer while doing what I love during the other 10 months of the year!
