On your way to 3

Our sweet baby girl is on her way to being three!  She turned 2 1/2 in May and I wanted to make sure and jot down a few things about her... There's such a huge difference between being 2 and 3!  One thing we've noticed lately is that the she wants to do anything that makes her a "big kid."  She has gotten quite the interest in art and if it involves stickers, scissors, or washi tape, she is all in!  You can probably also tell that she likes Doc McStuffins.  Sophia the First is a big hit with her as well.  Speaking of a being a big kid, Maddy pretty much potty-trained herself before school was out in May.  I wasn't planning on starting until summertime, but she was eager and ready!  Woo-hoo.  Simplest potty-training session ever!

Maddy got her big girl bed (crib converted to a day bed) and is super proud of it.  Jack had his crib converted at 18 months because he climbed out of it, but she was content with the crib until we realized it was time!  Ha.  She loves to dress up, but does NOT like having her toes painted!  The very last picture was after she had begged me to paint her toenails.  She then wanted it off about 30 seconds later.  We convinced her to keep it on for one day of daycare.  She kept her socks on all day that day (which she never does) and has insisted that she doesn't like nail polish every since.  Funny girl!  This spring, Maddy really liked to feed the birds.  She was constantly reminding us to fill the bird feed in our front yard and was eager to help whenever she could!

A few pictures of our sweet & sassy girl at 2 1/2.  This Cubs "shirt" was actually a dress from last year, but was too cute to only wear one season.  So we got some red leggings and a new outfit was made.  She loves to wear it too!  Anything that resembles a dress is a win in her book.  She loves to twirl and sing... especially to "Let it Go" from Frozen.  I think every girl her age loves that song!   She had a funny version of it for awhile as she kept singing "I don't know, I don't know" to the tune until we told her what it really said.  This girl adds so much joy to our family!
