We live about 3.5 hours away from our hometowns, so a weekend trip is hard when it's not at least a three-day weekend. Memorial Day weekend was a perfect opportunity to see Bryan's family!
We made the first part of our trip a little longer and went to Lake Park to visit Bryan's grandma. She was thrilled to get to see Maddy and Jack!
Our trip to Algona from Lake Park took us through LeMars and of course, we had to stop for ice cream! -- It was tiring to be in the car for so long, but it was a nice evening once we got to Algona! Smores by the fire was a perfect ending to the day!
We got to spend a couple more days visiting Algona and got some quality time with Papa & Nana! The kids love to visit the Water's Edge Nature Center... they were very intrigued by the display of honey bees (as was I). The kids also got to play at the local park. If it hadn't been getting very warm outside, they would have probably played for hours! It was a fun, relaxing weekend and hopefully we'll get to do it again soon!
