A little extra time...

Winter is officially here. We had a snow day on Friday to start our two-week vacation. Yippeee! Although I would have rather saved that snow day for February when we are in the long haul at school, I definitely wasn't complaining. As a teacher, the last day before Christmas break is a LOOOOONG day. So I was happy to skip that day and go straight to break...

So with the extra day, I gladly got the rest of the presents wrapped, worked on Jack's grandparents gift (I'll tell more later) and did some general catching up on life. My sister came over and we played with Jack in the snow. He wasn't quite sure what to think at first and did NOT like to walk in it, but eventually he started walking and didn't want to come inside.

And since I had some extra time, I decided to make some Christmas cookies and candies. I like to make that kind of stuff during the holidays, so with some motivation from my sister, I decided to make sugar cookies and peppermint fudge. The peppermint fudge, which is very tasty, is one of Bryan's favorites. I hadn't made cut-out cookies in awhile, but they turned out pretty well. I even made homemade frosting.

Although my plan started on Friday around noon, I didn't finish until today around 5:00. Huh. Guess things take a little longer when you have a 16 month old helping you! But, it was fun to deliver the goodies to our neighbors. And now it's on to finishing up the rest of my Christmas duties!

I probably won't post again before Christmas, so to all who are traveling, safe journeys to you.
Merry Christmas!

I just love that bundled up little guy. It's so much effort just to get around in that thing, don't you think? I remember my boys toddling around in those big things - so cute. Safe travels & Merry Christmas!
