Christmas Time!

Our elf, Timmy, was a big part of our Christmas preparations again this year.  Maddy gave him a run for his money this year though!  She had a good week of being pretty naughty with throwing epic fits when she didn't want to do something. This led to the Timmy message about getting coal!  I think it affected her a little, because she asked if that was really a thing that happened!  He he.

More Timmy shenanigans: He brought Jack and Maddy a little puzzle to put together!  Besides hiding in crazy places around our house, Timmy also found Maddy's elf pajamas and spent a day lounging in them!  Maddy drew a picture of Santa with Timmy (so cute) and then Jack wrote a note to him letting him know that he should take the picture with him back to the north pole.  I love that there is so magic with Christmas!

Our first Christmas this year was at my sister's house with my dad.  The kids had a blast playing together and we made gingerbread cookies too.  Paige and Maddy spent most of their energy rolling and cutting extra dough like play-doh.  I think they played with it for hours!  Jack got a Lego Dimensions pack (Fantastic Beasts story pack) and Maddy got play-doh along with a gift card (possibly for a Hatchimal - we'll see!)

We continued our Christmas Eve traditions this year with late afternoon church, followed by dinner, and opening family presents.  The kids looked adorable, but before church Maddy refused to take pictures.  She is so stubborn like that!  Jack of course posed.  :)  We tried catching a picture at church and these were the best ones!

We talked Maddy into pictures after church, thankfully! We captured some candid shots as well.  I can't wait to scrapbook this page!

After our ham ball dinner, we settled into comfy clothes and opened gifts.  Highlights: Jack got the Ecto 1 Lego set from Ghostbusters.  Maddy and Jack decorated a big coffee mug for Bryan (with pictures from ALL seasons - so he can use it year-round).  Maddy got her own sleeping bag and a microscope.  I got a pair of Sperry's and a big 'ol medicine ball.  The kids also got their own custom Lego minifigures (to look like them)!  When it was time for bed, Jack and Maddy took their job of preparing for Santa very seriously.

Here's a cute video of Maddy explaining how Bryan's mug was decorated to be an "all-season" mug!

Christmas morning!  Maddy's big smile was right after she exclaimed, "Santa didn't bring coal!"  ha ha!

After breakfast, the kids got some good quality playtime with their new toys and enjoyed being with Papa!  Then it was off to Algona for more Christmas memories!
