Maddy's 3rd Birthday

As every parent seems to say about a million times in their kids' lives... I can not believe that my baby girl turned a year older last month!  She is three!!!  As she has one of the last birthdays in the family, she gets a lot of time to anticipate the fun.  She was really excited for her birthday week!  The first set of pics are from our little celebration at home.  She was just a little excited about some new tag reader books (featuring princesses!).  Jake Legos and a Doc McStuffins dress-up kit were also favorites!

A funny story about Maddy's interpretation of birthdays.  She woke up on her birthday and even though we all told her "Happy Birthday" she didn't believe it was so!  We finally got down to the root cause... we hadn't hung up a birthday banner for her in the dining room.  So note to self for future birthdays, there must be a banner!!!

This is a mish-mash of pictures:  Maddy celebrating at daycare with a party hat (woo!).  Then Maddy eating a special pre-doctor's check-up donut with daddy.   We rarely eat donuts, so it's quite the treat!  And Maddy's birthday invitation.  She had wanted a Doc McStuffins party for quite a long time, but decided after a suggestion by Jack that she should have a Hello Kitty party instead.

Birthday party day!!!  1 -  This picture cracks me up!  There was snow on her party day and this was her look of disapproval to the bad weather.  That girl has the most emotional faces.  2 & 3 - She was quite excited for party day.  And you have to love her new princess snow boots (on the wrong feet)!  4 & 5 - Jack was always willing to help open a gift or two.  6 - Checking out fun presents with Papa Chuck.  7 - Trying out a new puzzle with cousin Emily.  8 - Opening a gift from cousin Paige, Aunt Sarah, and Uncle Jeremy.

And of course there was cake!  She wasn't sure what to think of all the attention during the birthday song (hence the serious look).  But once it was time to blow out the candles, she did a great job with some assistance from Nana Linda!  And of course, it was delicious!

It was such a fun week of celebrating my little girl's third birthday!
