Halloween is more and more fun each year with the kids getting a little older. Maddy was very excited to go trick or treating this year and from one of the books we read at night, she knew exactly what to say! 1 - We made witch hats and brooms together as a fun Halloween treat. / 2 - Bryan doing his Daddy duty of carving the pumpkin. / 3 - Neither Jack or Maddy would touch the pumpkin "guts," so we did a potato-style pumpkin too! / 4 - Our pretty pumpkin table on the deck / 5 - My minions trying on super hero masks in anticipation of Halloween / 6 - Maddy with her spider hat from daycare / 7 - Maddy was very strategic with her candy post trick or treating. / 8 - Jack's strategy was to stuff his mouth as quickly as possible even when mom and dad said only TWO pieces! / 8 - We had a blast at the zoo for "Boo at the Zoo." The kids got to wear their costumes one more time and loved getting to see animals awake at night that they don't usually get to see. Both kids said their favorite part was the bats flying at their heads in the Lied Jungle.
1 - Maddy was Izzy (the girl pirate as she called her) from Jake & the Neverland Pirates. Her favorite part was her bag of "pisky dust" also known as pixie dust! :) 2 - Jack was Robin and loved playing the part! 3 - Izzy and Robin ready for trick or treating. It was a cold night (about 25 degrees) so there were several layers underneath! 4 - I dressed up as Bat Woman and Jack was my Robin. I don't usually, but it was fun to dress up with the kids!
Here are a couple fun videos of the kids trick-or-treating. Maddy was so cute with her full version of "Trick-or-treat, trick-or-treat, give me something good to eat!" She was not shy at all and even started chatting a few times. Her biggest issue was that she would start talking before the person even came to the door. Jack was an old pro and loved being able to show Maddy the way!
