For those of you who don't know, my husband is a huge cyclist! And he loves to race. So two of our mini-vacations this summer were to bike races. The first one was in Lawrence, Kansas. I hadn't been there before, but it was a neat little town. Home of KU, there were lots of unique restaurants and downtown was filled with activity! The weather was beautiful that weekend, so it made all our outdoor time very enjoyable too. Bryan raced twice that weekend and Jack raced once. Maddy, well she was a spectator (like me) and enjoyed the park time too!

| Bryan during his first of two races - We found a park near downtown that had a play set made just for toddlers! - Jack finishing his race. - Showing off his medal! |
The second mini-vacation was to Clear Lake, Iowa. We went to this race last year and it was a lot of fun so we decided to go again this year! It doesn't hurt that it's only an hour from Bryan's hometown. Again, Bryan raced twice and Jack raced once. Bryan's parents were able to come see him race during the criterium on Saturday night, so I got to work on my photography skills. I have some work to do! Bike racers are hard to capture in a photo. The pictures are a bit better than they look here as I had to put them in a collage for the blog.

Here are some of Jack sightings from the weekend. I nearly missed Jack's race start, so I didn't get any good pictures from this race.
I found this Chicago Cubs dress at a local kids consignment store for $2.50. Seriously awesome! I love when I find stuff like this. This was her first time wearing it, so I went a little crazy with the pictures. It was a beautiful day at the park and we had lots of time to play while Bryan was finishing the road race. Notice all of her funny faces!
