Snow Day!

We got to enjoy a semi-unexpected snow day this week!  I got home from school on Tuesday and Bryan asked me if I knew about the Winter Weather Advisory for that night and into the next morning. I was oblivious, but some forecasts said only 1-2 inches, so I didn't think much of it.  If anything, I thought it was going to just be an annoying morning of driving!  I was in the shower Wednesday morning when we got the call.  Yippee!  A snow day!!!  I shouldn't have been that excited since we have to make all of our snow days up at the end of the year.  {Boo!}  However, our snow day in December was a total drag since we didn't have power for the majority of the day!  And as a result, Jack barely got to play in the snow.  So we made sure to live this one up!

If nothing else, I was excited to get to spend the day at home with my babes!  And if there's anything good about Bryan being unemployed, it was that he got to stay home with us too.  Usually we'd make pancakes on a snow day, but I had just made a batch the weekend before and we had plenty in the freezer, so we just warmed them up!  We kind of just hung out during the morning and Jack got some good quality Lego time in.

After lunch, Jack got to play outside for a bit.  He's been talking a lot lately about when we'd get more snow, so I was a bit worried that we wouldn't get enough again for him to play in.  There wasn't a lot of it, but he found it fun anyway!  And the best part was that he got to have hot cocoa and ice cream after he came in.  Funny combination, I know!  He was super excited about it though.

And our snow day also included lots of play time with our sweet little one.  It's easy to forget to get the camera out when life gets busy, but I made sure to get it out that day and catch some candid moments.  And this included one of Maddy's daily tantrums!  Even a snow day won't prevent a melt down.

We love snow. My kids could play outside for hours. Seriously. Unfortunately, we haven't gotten too much snow this winter.
