Poor Maddie.... It seems as if I'm always a week late on every one of her monthly birthdays! It was a rough week at our house this week and my well intended 4 months post got put on the back burner. I was so pleased that on Sunday morning every one in our house was doing well despite the time change. Well, the rest of the week made me think again. Although the extra sunlight in the evening has been very nice, it has been messing with Jack. The weather has also been extremely warm, so the combination of great weather and extra light has him up late! He just can't go to sleep. He didn't take a nap yesterday or today and that seemed to help tremendously. So naps may be starting to be a thing of the past for him... Not sure I'm ready for that (emotionally or mentally). I need that couple hours to recharge part-way through the day. We did tell him to lay down and rest for a little over an hour each day and he did so quietly. An hour seems to go very quickly though, especially when both kids are not sleeping at the same time! Well, this mama will adjust. It's just going to be our new normal.
Onto Maddie... She turned 4 months old last Sunday! Here's a run-down of her latest tricks:
She's pretty good at tummy-time although she doesn't always like it.
She rolled over from her tummy to her back (trying to get out of tummy time).
She is starting to be a bit more of a snuggler. I can actually rock her to sleep now. Yeah! My favorite part of the day.
She giggled the other night and it was the most beautiful sound in the world! The neighbors dogs were barking and she seemed to be very entertained by them, so that might have been what she was laughing at. (We're not entirely sure!)
