Life with Two

We are a little over a week into daily life with two kids. And so far, the first couple weeks of having a newborn at home have seemed simple. I hesitate to use the word "easy" as not every moment has been that way. Yet, with newborn Jack, it seemed like I spent most of my mental energy figuring out what to do with this new little creature. It seemed new, challenging, and maybe even a little nerve-wracking.

Yet, this time around, although Jack is four and waaaaay past the "baby stage," (and I may have forgotten a few things about what it's like to have newborn!) our first days at home with another newborn have been peaceful. There has been no lack of crying from either kid and we have had a couple rough nights, yet I am spending less mental energy "figuring it all out." I know I spent way too much time trying to do everything just the right way with Jack. And now I realize just how quickly they grow out every stage of life. So this time I've vowed to worry less and snuggle more. And I'm definitely enjoying this new snuggly babe!

The newborn stage is definitely less stressful with every kid you have. I was so overwhelmed with Porgie. Izzy wasn't too bad as newborn. And Guppy's first three months have been pretty good. Of course I'd like more sleep, but overall it has been pretty easy.

Funny how much time we wasted worrying with the first ones right? The second ones you have so much more confidence. You are so right too, the time just goes by way too quickly to waste worrying about whether to swaddle or not, paci or no paci....Can't WAIT to see you soon!!
