Oh, it pains me to say that summer is half-way over, but as I look at the calendar, July is going to fly by (as it usually does)! We had a lot of fun in June though and have a ton of pictures as a result! One of our fun trips early in the month was to the Children's Museum. They currently have a Lego exhibit, which of course Jack was fired up about! It was way more interesting than Lego Land in KC, in my opinion. The kids built and raced cars and Jack could have spent hours building anything and everything at the tinker station! The theme is "Things that Go!" so they had other places to play like the inside of a camper. Maddy thought that was amazing. We also got to check out the newly remodeled grocery store (see the pizza station pic in the bottom left corner). And of course, a trip on the carousel was in order too!
We also made our first trip to the zoo this summer. Each kid got to pick one activity... Maddy chose the carousel and of course had to ride on the cheetah. Jack chose a camel ride. It was a fun day and Maddy even walked almost the entire zoo! What a little trooper. I believe our days with a stroller are done {tear}. I'm excited to go again at least one more time before school starts!
Oh there was so much baseball in June! I will be posting pics from Jack's baseball soon. We made it to an Omaha Storm Chasers vs. Iowa Cubs game on a gorgeous weekday evening. I had won some free tickets so we took advantage and got seats right behind home plate (usually we buy the cheap berm tickets)! Bryan taught Jack how to keep score and the kids were really good (overall). Of course, we forked out the $$$ for them to go to the kids zone. Jack spent most of his time at the foosball table and Maddy did a lot of bouncing. We spaced things out and got some ice cream toward the end of the game and everyone was happy until Maddy found out that the Iowa Cubs lost! Ha!
We took a quick day trip to LeMars, Iowa (known as the ice cream capitol) for a bike race. Bryan won and the kids had a ton of fun cheering him on! And of course, we had delicious ice cream too. It was the weekend of their town festival, so we hung out at a BBQ cook off, enjoyed some good music, yummy food, and a beautiful evening before heading back home.
And now for a mish-mash of random pics from June. 1 -- A fun pic we took for Father's Day! 2-3 -- Balloon ping-pong has become a favorite indoor activity this summer. Just make your paddles from a paper plate and craft stick! 4 -- An extra pic from LeMars. :) 5 -- My babes have played so well together this summer! 6 -- Maddy after swimming lessons playing at the park. 7 -- Doing some baking soda volcanoes. 8-9 -- Miniature golfing. We were the only ones there on a weekday morning and had a ton of fun! 10 -- Cousin lunch on the deck. 11 -- Fun times in the backyard with Jack's friend! And writing this blog post makes me excited for another fun month with my little minions!
