I was standing in the kitchen today, taking a deep breath and enjoying the peace that comes with both kids being quietly tucked into their rooms for "nap" time. (Jack doesn't actually take a nap anymore). I looked up at the calendar filled with pictures of Maddie from one year ago, when she was a tiny, tiny baby. I then looked at the clock and it was exactly 2:19 p.m., the time she was born. And it was a nice moment to give thanks for the beautiful children and wonderful family I have been blessed with.
Madelyn - There are a few things I want to remember about you being one year old: You love your daddy! Some days I get a little jealous of how much of a daddy's girl you can be! You are spunky. You can be bossy with your cries, grunts, and even sign language. You already know how to get what you want! You love to be surprised and I'm afraid you are going to be a dare-devil. You like to hang upside down, be thrown into the air, and already try to climb things. We're going to have to keep an eye on you! You like to eat out of Daddy's cereal bowl. When you're in the right mood, you can be a snuggler. You will lay your head down on our shoulders and snuggle right in. You love your brother! And he loves making you smile. You will blow kisses with a big old, "Mwah!" and we happily oblige with lots of hugs and kisses back. You pat our backs when you give us a hug. You have the most beautiful blue eyes!
And although not nearly as exciting.... I will be happy I documented this for your baby book -
Weight - 22 pounds (unofficially)
Diaper Size - size 3
Clothing Size - 12 months or 12-18 months (a select few 18 months)
Teeth - 2 on bottom and {almost} 4 on top!
