Our big five year-old!

This past weekend was a big one for Jack...  He got to ride in another bike race, spend time with his cousin (whom he loves to play with), and celebrate his 5th birthday party!  He "won" his bike race, he said because he beat Daddy across the finish line.  And adding another medal to his stash is always fun too.

Jack decided quite awhile ago that he wanted to have a Lego birthday party.  This was quite a change for him as he has had a Cars party the last two years!  So, using my best Pinterest skills, I found some fun ideas for a Lego party!  We have had a pretty low-key birthday party at our house each year, but they were still a lot of work.  We decided to try something different this year and took him and his friends bowling.  I had to get creative with his invitations and come up with a way to combine Legos (which he really wanted as the theme) with bowling as the fun activity.  I was pretty happy with the end result.

The picture was the only way I could figure out how to mix Legos and bowling together.
Baby food jars painted to look like Lego heads and filled with M&Ms!

Here are some pictures of the birthday party fun:

Look at that form!

Our nephew, who also was bowling for the first time, was super pumped about getting a spare!

Blowing out the candles on his Lego cake.

Opening presents...  It's always entertaining to watch the group of kids get really close as they watch the birthday boy open his gifts.

Good pals...  They are now all 5 years old and all started daycare together as little bitty babies.  So fun watching them grow up together.  The other three all start Kindergarten this year.  Jack is the youngest and won't start until next year.
