We took a late September trip to the zoo. We have such an awesome zoo! We had free train tickets for being members that we needed to use, so we enjoyed them on a crisp, but nice Saturday morning. We had yummy pizza downtown afterward and just enjoyed the day as a family!

By the way, when the morning is cool and crisp, the monkeys come out to play! There were several monkeys that were very, very vocal that morning. We stood and watched them forever! Bryan got a really good picture of this one right in the middle of his "song."

We also took an early October visit to the local pumpkin patch with Jack's daycare friends. Bryan didn't get to go because it was his last day at his old job.... As you can tell, it was a pretty warm day. It was super windy, however!

Speaking of nice weather, we were pretty lucky to get warm weather through most of October. We tried to get outside and enjoy it while we could. I can feel a little bit of cabin fever already coming on with a certain 4-year old boy! For some reason, Jack was really excited to rake leaves. We only have a few trees, thankfully, and they're not very big. They provided just enough leaves to have fun, but not so many to be annoying! That will probably change in a couple years.

Bryan got a new job and therefore, Jack got a new hat. He loves his "bike" hat and thinks he's pretty tough wearing it like Daddy under his bike helmet.

Last, but not least, Halloween! We got our decorations up a little late this year, but when we did, Jack was ready to celebrate. Although he didn't want to at first, he ended up having fun digging the guts out of the pumpkin.

A random sunny afternoon shot of Jack. He's such a ham sometimes!

And our little Buzz Lightyear. I totally got lucky this year with a thrifty find on a Halloween costume. Before I even found it, I asked Jack what he wanted to be and one of his choices was Buzz! Perfect!

Jack was such a super star this year during trick-or-treating. He even informed us a few nights before Halloween that he "didn't need an adult this year. He was big enough to go by himself." Ha! Such independence! Although it took a lot of prompting to get him to say "Trick or Treat" and "Thank you" both at the same house, he did a good job! He often got so distracted by the decorations that he would forget to say anything!

And now we are enjoying the last few days as a family of three! Soon we'll have another little Redemske to share these good times with!
