Spider Cupcakes

I was in a baking mood this weekend so we made Halloween cut-out cookies & these yummy cupcakes. They were super easy to make and a lot of fun.

You just use a Devil's Food cake mix and to make the orange "surprise" part of the cupcake, you use 8 oz. cream cheese, 1/3 cup sugar, and 1 egg. (And orange food coloring, of course). Blend together and after you have filled each cupcake tin 1/2 full of chocolate batter, put a small spoonful of the orange mixture in the center.

I was worried that it wouldn't be in the middle of the cupcake, so I poked it down using the spoon. That wasn't necessary because it fell down into the cupcake once they started baking.

Once the cupcakes are cool, frost with chocolate frosting. Using white frosting and a decorating bag, make 3-4 circles on top. Use a toothpick and starting in the center, drag it outward to create the spider web effect. Fun & yummy!!
