We took clay and pressed them into circles. The original directions said to use polymer clay, but I used Crayola no-bake clay instead. We used large colorful craft sticks and pressed them carefully into the bottom. We then took stamps (I used ones I had for scrapbooking) and pressed the letters into the clay. Then we had to wait a week or so for the clay to dry. Once it was fully dry, Jack painted it and I used a silver pen to make the letters stand out. The final step was to paint with a clear spray paint. Since I didn't bake the clay, I didn't want it to dissolve if it got wet.

Jack really wanted to make a snake, so we did that too. I would suggest putting this craft in a plant that is somewhat shielded from the elements. The no-bake clay doesn't seem as strong, but it was a bit easier to work with!
