Christmas {a little late}

If it wasn't for ANOTHER snow day today... I may have never gotten this post done!

Christmas in review.... It was a Christmas of change, but still full of wonderful time with family and friends.

Instead of traveling on Christmas, we decided with Jack being old enough to {mostly} understand Christmas, we would start our own traditions. So we abandoned our traditions together for the last 9 years and opted to stay home for Christmas Eve and Christmas. And the snow (all 13" of it) over Christmas was nice. It made us slow down, stay inside, and just enjoy being a family.

Family photo!!! (These don't seem to happen very often).

Our sidewalk after blowing ourselves out

"Fun" in the snow. He didn't like when it touched his face.

The snow forced us to delay Christmas with my side of the family, but thankfully the roads were semi-okay by Monday so that my friend, Christy & I could travel to Minnesota to see our dear friend, Laura and her new boy, Ty.

Then it was a day trip to Lake Park, Iowa for a visit to Bryan's Grandma, Dorothy.

Four generations... Great-Grandma Dorothy, Grandma Linda, Bryan, and Jack

Finally, we made it to my Grandpa's farm for Christmas on New Year's. This was a bitter-sweet Christmas. We all missed Grandpa, but had lots of fun like he would have wanted us to!

Jack asked a few weeks ago if we could make apple pie. He must remember it from a unit they did at daycare awhile back. So I promised him we'd make an apple pie for Christmas!

Nana Renee is the apple pie expert.

Putting sugar on the crust.

Jack was so very proud of his messy hands!

Making Christmas cookies with Aunt Liz.

A finished gingerbread house with Aunt Sarah.

The last bit of Christmas was had last Sunday. We joined Bryan's family for an afternoon of lots of fun with a pair of two-year old boys! They were good for plenty of entertainment.

Lots of fun in the tent!

Playing cars.

As all good boys do... jumping over and over again!

Hope everyone had a wonderful time with family over the holidays. Happy New Year!

Looks like you had a wonderfully, busy holiday full of good times! I'm sure there were bound to be a few bittersweet moments, but it looked like you honored your Grandpa's wishes and memory well by having one helluva good get together!

Still can't get over how much Jack continues to grow!!! Wowsers!

Happy New Year!! Much love! xoxo
