A little of this & a little of that... (part 5)

Oh... it has been awhile. I have no other reason to explain this blogging break other than it feels like life has simply consumed me. It seems that everything has been very busy lately and frankly, I feel like I don't have much to write about.

* After this incident, we finally got Jack's two-year pictures taken. I apologize in advance for the sub-par pictures on the blog. Because our computer is acting funny, I had to take a picture of a picture. Old school, I know. They turned out pretty good. His hair is a bit longer than I would have liked, but that's a minor detail. He looks so old in the darker one and so young in the second one. The clothes and expression totally change the picture.

* Bryan and I have been making it a point to have date night every month. We've only been doing it for two months and so far it has been great fun! We kind of made a deal that one of us would plan one month and then the other would plan next month. Our date in September was to take a day-trip to Kansas City to the see the final day of the Tour of Missouri. I've seen many bike races, but nothing like this. It was sweet! And now I'm on to planning October's date night. Any ideas for unique dates, send them my way!

* I've been spending some time lately preparing for cooler weather. I don't want it to sound like complaining, because I love the change in seasons. It seems like fall/winter require so much more preparation when cleaning out Jack's clothes and buying new ones. I'm big on used clothing, so I cleaned out the closets, made a list of what he needed and started shopping. There are two huge consignment sales here in Omaha. I didn't even need to go to the second one because I had mostly everything after the first round. That includes a nearly new Columbia winter coat for only $8! I love a deal.

* And what might be the most exciting news of all.... I {hope} to have pictures of my new vehicle by the end of the week. We are going to the dealer Tuesday night to negotiate. I have had my current car for what seems like a long time. It's done it's job, but I'm EXCITED for a new set of wheels. Can you tell I'm excited? More details {hopefully} later in the week!

Pictures of Jack are GREAT! {You're right about him looking older in one vs. the other.} Still can't believe he's 2 already!

Date night is such a great idea. Eric and still haven't been on a date since before Avarie was born. We're working on it....

Katherine and I hit the 2nd of our two big consignment sales this past Sat and came home w/TONS of goodies. I'm going to try to go again later in the week when everything's on 75% markdown. All of the clothes I got are like new; LOVE IT!

Avarie got worse; much worse. Took her to the ped last night w/a 103 fever. By the time we got there it was 104.4. The virus turned into a really bad ear infection. Since she'd vomited before we left they gave her a shot of amox. I'm home w/her today. Poor baby. :(

This turned into a post of my own instead of a comment. Oops! Love you. xoxo, k.
