Our sweet little Jacket is starting to show his rebellious side... And it's not just because Daddy gave him a tattoo! He' s very proud of his tattoo, by the way.I am back to school and Jack is back in daycare. And since he's been in daycare (7 days now) he has taken ONE good nap. He has been a full blown stinker when it comes to nap time. The rest of the time he's a great little boy! Our daycare provider loves having him around. That is, except between the hours of noon and 3.
He started last week by climbing out of his pack-n-play, yelling, and screaming while the other kids were sleeping. Then he was put on a cot like the big kids. That hasn't worked either. By putting all our brains together, we decided that bringing a stuffed animal and a different blanket might do the trick. No such luck.
So yesterday Bryan proposed that we convert his crib to the daybed so it would be more like daycare. We could work at home on staying in bed too. I was entertaining the idea, but was a little wary of it at the same time. I think that was mostly due to me not wanting him to grow up.
Jack gave us the sign last night that he was ready for the change. He crawled out of his crib and surprised us by coming out of his bedroom. It was a priceless moment, really. He stood there looking at us with a mixed look of confusion and terror on his face. I wasn't sure if I should laugh or be upset at him. But we took him back to bed and it happened two more times before he went to sleep.
He is currently sleeping soundly in his "big boy bed." He went right to sleep without getting up once. I'm pretty sure it was due to pure exhaustion! I had geared myself up for battle tonight and have found it quite relaxing. With a good night's sleep tonight, tomorrow night may be a different story.
Wish us luck on this new phase of toddlerhood!

Best of luck in this new phase of toddlerhood! Hang on tight, you're in for a wild ride!
I still peek in at Ben in his big boy bed and can't believe it most days. They grow up so quickly! It's sort of scary, but so fun.
I love the tattoo!
I am soooo glad that my kids are clever enough to escape from their cribs. I like putting them safely in their cribs, knowing that they can't get out.
Good luck! I hope he starts napping again.
That should be, they AREN'T celever enough to escape.
