We are back in the grove and as always, August has been a busy month (more to come on the first day of school and Jack's birthday). We had a lot of fun packed into the last few weeks of July! The kids took a short vacation away from mommy and daddy, so I decided to tackle a long awaited house project. Redoing our master bathroom. Here are pics of the nastiness before:
Here is the beautiful new floor and paint afterward! I love it. Bryan was a great help with the project although I have to take credit for scraping up most of the old linoleum. Phew... that was hard work! I love being able to get one really good house project done during the summertime!
We did get some fun packed into July too. Lots of it dealing with water! The kids took swimming lessons in late June and both made a ton of progress. Although Jack never looks quite comfortable in the water, he has really improved a ton and is on to the next level next year. Maddy was a rockstar in swimming lessons and loved them! Not surprisingly, she is ready for the next level too. My favorite picture here might be the middle one. The kids just got in trouble and put in time-out while washing daddy's car (can't remember what for). But their faces are priceless!
We snuck in one more visit to the Children's Museum before school started. The kids had a dentist appointment prior to our trip and it was Maddy's first one! Their cousin joined us for the fun too!
We also got to spend time with another niece and nephew for my nephew's birthday.
And a hodgepodge of more fun... a quick trip to the zoo on a gorgeous day! (Most of our July was pretty mild). Jack getting to have a friend over and playing Monopoly was one of the many things they did together. Jack helped me sort out pieces and put together the new robot I have for our middle school's Lego League team! Maddy spent a lot of time with her new friend, Batty, from SD. And we got to have a play date with some of my teacher friends. This is one of Maddy's besties!
