Feeling Loved

I have been feeling so very loved this past week for Mother's Day! Jack was such a sweetheart and wished me a "Happy Mother's Day" about a million times. He absolutely melted my heart on Thursday when we were playing outside and drawing with the sidewalk chalk. I asked him what he wanted to draw and said a big flower with hearts in it. I did the drawing, of course, and he "decorated" it. As he was working away, he declared that this was my mother's day gift and that I should pretend I don't know yet. Ha! So we kept coloring and when we get done, he made me walk away and then surprised me with my gift! He was so proud of himself.  You can't see his decorating very well in the picture, but he drew lines in each petal and colored the flower's center.  I asked him to write his name by it and it was probably the best signature he's done!

Jack decided that Maddie needed something too, so we drew her a butterfly.  Sorry about the sideways picture... I don't have time at the moment to adjust it.

While I was gone to a graduation party on Saturday, Jack made my card.  He couldn't contain himself, so I got it when I got home that afternoon.  But on Sunday morning, I received my card again along with some pretty orange roses, and some sweet treats from Trader Joe's.  Jack picked out the orange roses and was mighty proud of his flower picking!

I also got to spend Mother's Day morning and lunch with my Mom, Grandma, and Sister (it was her first Mother's Day).  Not many people to get to spend time with all the special women in their lives, so it was very nice!  Later in the afternoon, we took a family bike ride to the park and then to DQ for some ice cream.  It was Maddie's first bike ride in the baby snuggler with the bike trailer.  She seemed to like it, although it was a tight fit with both kids in the trailer!

Along with the spoiling Bryan gave me all weekend, I have a jogging stroller on its way.  I've been wanting one for awhile as I anticipate summertime!  My hope is that I can run with Maddie in the stroller and Jack can ride his bike.  I'm pretty excited about it.

I am feeling like one lucky Mama this Mother's Day.  Seriously, how could you not love these sweet little faces!
