Snow days!

We had two more snow days last week. And even though we now have to make up those two days, I still had that giddy excitement that kids have the night before! There is something exciting about snow days. It has to be one of the best perks of being a teacher (summers off is pretty sweet, too). This time around it was too cold to play outside, but I do have some pics from playing outside a few weeks back.

Jack LOVED going down his slide and landing in a pile of snow. He did it over & over & over again. And I had to keep piling it up!

The dogs like the snow too.... At one point, Tonka kicked a bunch of snow into Jack's face as he was coming down the slide. NOT happy about that!

Trying to make a snow angel & now he's stuck!

These pictures were after the snow was right for making a snowman! Jack got a snowman "kit" for Christmas last year and we finally tried it out. We walked all over to find arms too. Jack was not going inside until his snowman had arms.

We also made chocolate chip pancakes & snow ice cream during our last snow days! It was my first time making snow ice cream and it was pretty delicious. We made it with sweetened condensed milk. I think it might taste a little better with regular milk & sugar, so we'll have to try it again sometime!
Eight cups of snow, 14 oz. sweetened condensed milk, & 1 tsp. vanilla.

The final product - It looks like real ice cream!

And after all that fun, I can still say I'm ready for spring! Bring on the warm weather this weekend.
