Growing up in Iowa, everyone I knew was an Iowa or Iowa State fan. That was just the way of life. You were on one side of the fence or the other. And by default I was an Iowa Hawkeye fan. My family members were, so therefore I was too. But as I got older and started looking at colleges, I decided on UNI because of its well known teaching program. And so I became a Panther.
Now living in Nebraska, I still get asked if I'm an Iowa or Iowa State fan. And my response, "Neither really." I cheer for any Iowa college to win against the Huskers. He he. But truly I'm a fan of the UNI Panthers.
And it's a great time to be a Panther! And if you've been stuck in a hole for the past two days.... UNI beat Kansas (the #1 seed & predicted winner of the NCAA tournament)!!!!!
They face Michigan State on Friday in the sweet 16. Go Panthers!
